Introduction | Dear friends, for these first times, you will find a PASSWORD applied to my files. It's because the blog is still under construction, I need some time to check whether some Inquisition organization jumps on me with menaces... Therefore, just wait more or less till the 10th of December, and all PWs will be released. However, should I in the meanwhile start to get problems of legal order, well, I will have to say adieu to you all, and "farewell, farewell" to this blog. Sorry, I have no possibility to publish good scans of the LP covers, my time is always so reduced... What I can do is taking pictures "on the run", so that at least you can have an idea of the covers. This 'ghostly' presence of my glove is necessary, I need to know if my pics are used and/or forwarded somewhere else. Kiss, your Vanessa |
Interests | This blog sees the light today after meditation and rage, a reaction against an extended obscurantism that reigns on many other blogs. People post LPs on servers that can't seem to find other fun than deleting music. What's their reason to exist, if they keep preventing us to share our files? Kontroversies apart, I decided to give my modest contributon. My intention is filling some gaps here n there in order to give other Folk Freaks like me the chance to enjoy certain music that they can't find elsewhere. No pretention of completeness, needless to say :-). So, anytime an album is available somewhere online, unless I know for sure that my copy is much better quality (see the case of the James & Berryman LP), it won't be linked here anymore. Here's a space for semi-obscure people; a few random names: Ariel Akerib, Ian A. Anderson, Harvey Andrews, Beechmonts, Black Plus Red, Eric Bogle, Gordon Bok, Alex Campbell, Ian Campbell Folk Group, Michael Chapman, Daylight, Evensteven, Flingels, Folk Singers, John James, Johnstons, Leprechauns, Limeliters, Ludlows, McCalmans, Lyn & Graham McCarthy, Peter Nalder, Richmond, Scotia Folk, Gary Shearston, Singspiel, David Snell, Stewart & Kyle, Tanzbär, Wayfarers (UK/NL), Wayfarers (USA), Winsor & Sullivan... Names whose works we rarely find around (at least at the present moment). Please don't come here lookin 4 Fairports or Steeleyes, you can easily find them elswewhere. Also, you won't find recently published CDs. It's my rooted opinion that a wide amount of good quality has gone lost in these latest 25 years. I'm not very old but I'm no more young enough to get any surprise/shock by the new generations. The 60s and 70s are gone forever :-( .... ** ALL the music comes from my vynil collection. In case someone wants to send contributions, please do it :-)! - - Yours Vanessa |
