Introduction Shalom! My name is Lael. I wanted to start a blog about Shabbat recipes through the ages. I am a trained chef, a lover of cookbooks, and curious about what people eat and why. The idea for this blog came from two sources. The first was Mo Rocca's tv show, "My Grandmother's Ravioli." The second source was a dear friend who was willing to test an old gefilte fish recipe that I found in a very old cookbook. He loved it and said that this was the gefilte fish of his youth. My friend is a gourmet, and the ancient gefilte fish is his favourite dish. Food is love made manifest. It is worth all of the trouble to bring happiness and love to your families and friends. I hope to re-discover, re-invent, and share recipes with like minded folks. Please remember that all recipes submitted can be Sephardic or Ashkenazi, but they must be Kosher. Thank you!
