Introduction I am an interdisciplinary teacher and researcher, as well as a stage and screen performer, writer, wife, mother, and lover of Murder, She Wrote. Having completed an interdisciplinary Ph.D. in Aesthetic Studies at The University of Texas at Dallas, I specialize in gender media and popular culture studies, film musicals and musical theater, and the visual culture of novelist William Faulkner. My recent publications explore popular culture representations of housework and domesticity (Scarecrow Press and Rowman and Littlefield Press), motherhood and fatherhood (Palgrave Macmillan Press), and magic and religion (Praeger/ABC-Clio Press). I am also a working stage and commercial actress, having performed in over forty professional productions. Most importantly, I’m a small-town girl who married a small-town boy, and together, we have two wonderful young sons, Rowan (7 years) and Lawson (15 months).
