Introduction	I find myself as a 'mature' Design Student following the loss of my job. After nearly 10 years of building a career in public services I had a baby and found myself out of work all within 2 months of each other. Previously if I'd wanted something pretty I'd have just bought it, or have it made. That's what you do when you have no dependants! These life changing events have turned me into someone who, if I want lovely things, then I have to hunt, gather and make it myself. I've decided to share my experiences and tips by writing this blog to show money doesn't always buy you happiness.
