| Introduction | TEND is a new artist-led project within the collaborative practice of Jane Ansell & David Paton. TEND references both the tending of plants and the nutrturing of an idea over a sustained period of time. For one year we will be based in a shed within the walled garden at Trewidden. The shed will gradually evolve to become both studio, archival space and artwork. We will be exploring contemporary notions of landscape and nature through the shared experiences of staff and visitors. Directed by the plant collecting heritage and architectural structures within the garden we hope to disclose, over time, the particular essence of Trewidden Garden. Trewidden is an important example of the industrial and horticultural heritage that has shaped the landscape of the far South West peninsular of England. TEND is supported by Arts Council England's Grants for the Arts scheme and the Trewidden Garden Estate. |
