| Introduction | A 31 year old Republican State Senator from Northwestern Montana who's served in the Legislature nearly a decade. I have become increasingly wary of parties, interest groups and the mechanisms that prevent responsible policy solutions. Modern governing is a complex process and solutions are rarely as simple as todays soundbite politics would have us believe. Increasing polarization and partisanship are the greatest threats to our Nation. It is incumbent upon all of us to transcend the status quo in support of a mature political system that promotes responsible governance. As I like to say: "Viewing the world in black and white is a luxury reserved for ideologues, demagogues, and partisans.
