| Introduction | James Peck is the managing director PX Farms Ltd, an Agri Business covering 5,400 acres. The business includes 11 articulated lorries specialising in combinable crops, fertiliser, seed and machinery haulage. Scotland Farm has a grain storage facility of 72,000 tonnes and has diversified into offices, Industrial units and property rental. The farm is operated under Controlled traffic farming which he learnt and adopted In 2010 on his Nuffield Scholarship. James is a past chairman of Cambridgeshire and Bedfordshire CLA and currently sits on the Cla Ag and Lu committee. He received the Farmers Weekly „Young Farmer of the Year Award‟ in 2006. In 2012 became a freemen if the city of London and a Liveryman at the Worshipful company of farmers. 2014 he attended the WCF advanced farm management course. In June 2014 he was asked to go to the Royal Palace to meet the Royal Family regarding his innovation in Agriculture. In 2015 he represented the UK at the Rabobank International agricultural tour. James has two wonderful young daughters and Fiona his wife owns a successful riding school with Cambridge University riding Club based there. |
