HTHI-4-Africa
My blogs
| Introduction | HTHI for Africa is a club that that was created earlier this year by a committed group of students interested in making a difference in the world. The group established connections with non-profits such as Sister Schools of San Diego, the Enough Project, AMREF (African Medical and Research Foundation), and Invisible Children – all organizations that do work to help those in need primarily in Uganda, Sudan and the Democratic Republic of Congo. In particular, the club has been learning about Gulu - a region in northern Uganda that was hardest hit by the 25-year war the LRA waged against the Ugandan government. The story has been documented in many ways, most notably through the film Invisible Children. As a school club, we have decided to do what we can to help with restoration of this region to normalcy. Our focus will be on helping to develop a community resource center and working with schools in the region. |
