Introduction	It goes without saying that I like sketches. They are much more unrefined than a laboured-over painting and their immediacy captures something about the artist themselves as you are seeing what they see and how they recorded it at that exact moment in time. The little visible mistakes people make when they sketch can only personlise the work even further and greatly add to the appeal as a record of the working process of the artist. As an oil painter I know only too well how tempting it is just to give the nearly finished artwork a little tweak, just because I have the opportunity, and more oftem than not the painting is weaker because of it. The speed with which a sketch can be produced means that it has the ability to capture a snippet of time that only a photograph could rival. I'm going to try and sketch more, perhaps every day, and whatever ends up on a scrap of paper or my iPad will be posted here.
Interests	As well as photography, which I still enjoy as a hobby, I am very interested in gardening for wildlife, traveling and I am currently trying to learn Spanish.
