Introduction	We monitor the implementation of the Programme of Action of the International Conference on Population and Development (ICPD), produce the population estimates and projections used throughout the United Nations system, provide substantive secretariat support to the Commission on Population and Development, co-chair the Population Cluster of the Executive Committee on Economic and Social Affairs and participate or lead a number of coordination mechanisms on various population issues considered by the United Nations system. In addition, we are in charge of producing estimates for three of the four indicators associated with the MDG target of attaining universal reproductive health. We are part of the Department of Economic and Social Affairs of the United Nations Secretariat.
