Introduction	As a native of North Carolina, I took an interest in nature at an early age. Growing plants from seed, observing insects, and exploring the woods near my home was a favorite pastime in my childhood days. Today gardening, hiking, and photography are my favorite activities. During my college years I became involved in nature photography. On my first field trip the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, I became captivated by the myriad of plant life. Soon after I began studying botany while learning the principles of photography. Later in the 1990's I starting photographing waterfalls in western NC. Today the thrill of photographing wildflowers, waterfalls and nature scenes is as strong as my first encounter. Take time to go out, and see what scenic North Carolina has to offer.
