| Introduction | I am 18 and I just graduated from high school (WIN!). I am going to be starting school for dog training in the next month through Animal Behavior College. I love animals. I love giving back in whatever way I can, and truly believe that when it comes to volunteering, you truly get back much more than what you gave. I volunteer with For Better Independence Assistance Dogs. Quincy is my demo dog and we show people what service dogs can do for people. I also volunteer with Teacher's Pet, an organization that places shelter dogs with at-risk youth and those in juvenile centers to make the dogs more adoptable and to maybe change the kids life, too. In May of '07, I was diagnosed with an incurable, but treatable, rare cancer called adenoid cystic carcinoma. Cancer definitely turned my world upside down, but while life may be tough, I'm tougher. I received a beautiful Nikon for my 17th birthday from some of my doggie friends. Since then I have been busy taking zillions of pictures. Life is good. |
