| Introduction | Hello, my name is Mireya Lowe and I also go by Mia for those who cannot pronounce my name. I live in Los Angeles in Brentwood up Mandeville Canyon with my husband, my baby girl and my dog Mochi. I make my living as a real estate agent where I have the opportunity to enjoy two of my favorite things, meeting interesting people and viewing beautiful homes. | Favorite movies | Royal Tenenbaums, Rushmore, All Jane Austen books turned to film especially Pride and Prejudice (the one with Keira Knightely) and Sense and Sensibilities, When Harry Met Sally and I a little embarrassed to admit Mean Girls (Tina Fey rocks). |
| Favorite music | Arguably the best part of LA is KCRW. It is the public radio station here and I like almost all the music they play. My taste is very eclectic. I like House music, to Bossa Nova to Folk and everything in between. |
| Favorite books | My favorite work of fiction is hands down Love in the Time of Cholera. These days I am too pooped out running after my little girl to read though I finished reading a book everyone should read. It is called the Junge Effect. This book explains the reasons behind the rising levels of heart disease, diabetes and certain cancers and relates it to our diet. Our diet has strayed so far from our ancestors' diet and encourages all to re-adopt these former diets for our health's sake. Compelling stuff. |
