| Introduction | We believe that health care reform is needed to increase the number of health care options available to patients and to decrease the price of health care. We also believe that it is possible to both reduce costs and to ensure that all Americans are provided with a basic level of health care. We do not think the current legislation proposed in congress will do either. The purpose of this blog is to consider the practical application of the individual mandates in the lengthy and complex legislation before congress, together with the administration’s proposed reforms which may or may not be included in the final legislation. This blog is the result of a collaborative effort by economists, doctors and other thoughtful individuals who have taken time to examine the details of health care proposals. |
