| Introduction | Currently I'm a postgraduate student at the London School of Economics, working toward the MSc in Development Management, so I must apologize in advance that most of my natter has to do with that at the moment. I promise to be more exciting one day soon! Anachisale was the name I was given when I was in Malawi in summer 2008. I've been told it is a name given to a woman who "has big brains" and is very wise. (Chisale is often a surname for chiefs or important families - "ana" is an address for a woman and Anachisale literally means "child of Chisale.") I almost never feel that I have big brains or wisdom these days, but I've decided to start a blog with this name to give myself a space to write my musings about Africa and "development." (Oh, and also to procrastinate. But that goes without saying, right?) It will be a mixture of the personal and professional. Hold on, it will probably be a bumpy ride! |
