| Introduction | I grew up in a musical home. Now as a parent, my appreciation for a musical education is growing. Developing a musical ear helped when I studied a foreign language and travelled after college. Many bilingual friends were also musicians. As my girls have been assigned memory verses at church, they have come to me and said, "I already knew that one because we sang it!" The effect of music on the brain is a fascinating topic: it affects mood and boosts the memory. There's nothing I enjoy more than making music with young children. Won't you join me?
