Introduction Welcome! As a child, education was my main priority and I knew I wanted to be a teacher at the age of five. I graduated from Southern Illinois University Carbondale with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education in 2009. I am currently working on my Master’s Degree at Ashford University studying Early Childhood Education. The 2011-2012 school year will serve as my third year as a teacher. I have taught Multi-Age 3rd grade/4th grade (2009-2010), and started teaching Kindergarten last year (2010-present). I absolutely LOVE teaching Kindergarten and certainly have found my niche in the primary grades. My philosophy of teaching is simple: I want my children to have fun learning, think, explore, solve problems, and become independent life-long learners. I feel in my classroom that I promote a positive, safe, and active learning environment to enhance all learning abilities. Over the past few months I have gotten many great ideas from educators and thought I would share the wealth for those who are looking for ideas or for those who truly want to see what it is like to be a Kindergarten Teacher.
