| Introduction | Raised in a working-class family in rural north Alabama, I have seen first hand the relationship between classism, sexism, and racism. I am committed to doing what I can to bring attention to these realities. I refuse to "catch more flies with honey." I refuse to "smile and act nice." And I absolutely, unequivocally refuse to cede my rights and my reasoning to another person. Period. Can't stand cults of personality. Can't abide cults of any kind, actually, especially those that demand I forego my rights as a woman. Things for which I have no patience: racial slurs; the term "white trash"; the word "vagina" (Latin for sword sheath, it's true, look it up); the substitution of the word "pussy" for weak and "cunt" for jerk; and the substitution of "balls" for boldness. Things I like: intelligent discourse; dialogue; expanding my world-view; dreaming about trouncing the patriarchy. |
