| Introduction | My name is Kaitlin Zardetto-Smith, I am currently a Junior History and Vocal Performance double-major at Nebraska Wesleyan University. Approaching my senior year, I was accepted into Jefferson's Monticello Archaeology Field School, a program offered through the University of Virginia, which is a top 20 University in the U.S. currently, and known for archaeological work nationwide. Jefferson was a very private man, he kept to himself and there is still so much that modern historians have to discover about him, and the way he and his enslaved community lived during the time at Monticello- I want to be a part of this once in a lifetime opportunity more than words could begin to express. |
