| Introduction | Celebrating my third age with 2 grandchildren and I hope a growing Buddhist psychotherapy practice. It was more than 15 years ago when I first began learning about the Buddha's teachings and the Eight Fold Path and mindfulness meditation, attending retreats at Gaia House and trying to meditate daily. My working life has been setting up community projects, and latterly I worked for a mental health charity, as an advocate and counsellor for families caring for a relative with serious mental health problems. In 2004 I saw an advert for Core Process Psychotherapy training at the Karuna institute in Devon. It was another one of my life changing decisions, which I fell into with excitement and joy, encouraged by my partner and my friends - waving the 'you can do this' flags. I applied, I was accepted onto the course and embarked on the most incredible, exhausting, demanding, rewarding, spiritual learning, which continues to engross and stimulate 'my little grey cells,' my body my spirit my way of being here. I have joined the legion of Warrior Women, many of whom I am proud to say are my friends, women who continue to learn, grow, enquire and change. |
