| Introduction | I'm English, and over forty, which probably puts me in a fairly small minority here. I've started this blog so that I can respond on a reasonably equal footing with others here, not because I have any burning desire to explain myself to the world. Posts are likely to be few and minimal. But, I have the option now - who knows where it will go? You're probably curious about the name that I've adopted. "Wandering" is from my love of train travel - I've been to a lot of places just for the sake of going there. It also has other connotations: "Not all those who wander are lost", said Tolkien - but some are. Sometimes I am wondering too. "Pom" is Australian slang for an Englishman: I've visited Australia and have friends there, so I'm happy with the word. "Wandering Pom" together sounds too euphonious to abandon. |
