| Introduction | I like to believe that I’ve had a decent amount of participation in politics since my high school years. During that time politics in my country (Brazil) became very chaotic and I inevitably took part in manifestations, marches, social movements, attended some politician's speeches, was part of student movements and briefly helped campaign for the far left “Communist Party of Brazil”. Today, although I got a Solid Liberal in the political test, I am still figuring out what I actually believe in and try to incorporate new knowledge into my ideology. I have not been able to actively participate in US politics as much as I would like, I am not able to vote here and have a lot to learn. In the two other quizzes I took I got fairly low grades, on the Civic Literacy a 5/10 and an 8/10 on the Current Events (although I did do a decent amount of guessing). In this class I am hoping to see American politics with an insiders view instead of how a foreigner does, I also would like to listen to others opinions and views and try to become more patient and understanding as well as see where these divergent points of view come from. |
