| Introduction | Elena Como founded Atlantico Books. She loves Brazil, Portugal, and the Portuguese language. She is originally from the San Francisco Bay Area in California. At UC Santa Cruz, Elena did her BA in mathematics and also graduated with honors in the independent major of Brazilian Studies. Through Atlantico, Elena shares her passion for Portuguese with others who are outside of the Portuguese-speaking world. Elena's mission through Atlantico is to help others to experience cultural understanding and broadening of horizons through the study of Portuguese and through getting to know Brazil and Portugal. In October of 2009, Elena participated in the First Conference on Brazilian Women Writers in New York City. |
