| Introduction | Why Shawarma Mayor? I started blogging after the homicide bombing that took place at a shawarma stand in downtown Tel-Aviv. That stand was called Shawarma Mayor. My major outrage was at the lack of attention victims of terror get. I live and work in the USA, but have a family in Israel for which I worry quite a lot. I myself was never a victim of terror. I did live in a state of fear due to random acts of butchery in close proximity. Such experiences traumatize and victimize the entire population. No - witnessing hundreds of people running, crying and screaming at 12am in the streets of Tel-Aviv after the bombing of the disco on the beach is not as bad as seeing the bodies. It's the after taste of horror that grips you and follows you for the rest of your life. |
