About me

Occupation Inquirer/Enquirer/Researcher
Introduction i'm a first time 'blogger', embarking on this technologically advanced journey as part of an attempt to spread news of the work i'm doing in as far reaching a way as possible. to as many communities of people as possible!i want to discuss my research work here, broaden its audience and engage with others (not necessarily academics) interested in similar areas. it's important that my work should be accessible and so am seeking to avoid sanitized research approach and overly academic language. interested in queer projects that question the seperation of 'public' and 'private', see myself as very intertwined with this work. my research in brief: i'm at the university of leeds working on a three year funded project looking at how the idea of heterosexuality as the only normal sexuality impacts on and in queer lives. interested in different performances of sexuality and identity. will be basing my findings on in-depth interviews with women who self-identify as queer. link to my university research page: http://www.leeds.ac.uk/sociology/pgres/kl.htm
Interests normative constructions of intimacy and sexuality. individual life-courses in the context of these larger social systems and structures. queer and feminist theory approaches and discourse. revenge plots.
