Introduction The Do the Math Challenge, inspired by The Stop Community Food Centre in Toronto has become a provincial initiative. Why is this so important? Most often those living on social assistance have to choose between paying their housing costs and buying healthy food. This shouldn’t be a choice but rather a basic human right. Through this public act of solidarity we will be able to raise awareness about hunger in Ontario to demand an immediate increase of $100 per month for each adult on social assistance to purchase healthy food. We are asking community leaders to take part in a public act of solidarity and live off a basket from the food bank for a week.
