| Introduction | My passions include Faith, family, friends, and fine art. I love painting, reading about painters/painting, looking at paintings, and talking about painting/paintings. Mostly, I love the process. It is such a challenge—it’s really hard. When I read artist statements, so many say they have been drawing since childhood. Oh, I wish! I sort of got into art through the back door. It was later in life and I could not draw and knew nothing about color/value/composition or the many other aspects of art. What a journey, however, to learn those things. I discovered that I will never learn it all—no one can. That makes it a life-long pursuit and I am happy to make it mine. As long as I can stand at the easel (or maybe sit someday), I will not give it up. |
