| Introduction | 11/28/2014: Okay, today I'm reworking this blog to be focused on an issue that I'm dealing with three and a half years after Roux-en-Y gastric bypass, Hyperinsulinemic Hypoglycemia. It's a potentially life-threatening condition that develops in patients a few years after having bariatric weight loss surgery. I'm finding that as my course progresses, I'm hearing about other people who are having the same difficulty. My plan here is to chronicle what I've been through and am going through on a daily basis. I also will be adding articles of interest from medical journals and links to other bloggers to document their stories in order to bring more awareness to those who are post gastric bypass, those who are considering it, and to help to recognize the need for more effective treatment options for this potentially devastating and deadly syndrome. |
