OccupationTrying to lead the examined life!
LocationEdmonds, WA
IntroductionWell, I have 2 teenagers...so I am taxi driver, personal chef, concierge, craft coordinator, you know the routine...I have spent the better part of my 25 year professional career as a social worker and program manager (putting my master's degree to good work), then took a year off, and tried to stay home (a BIG misnomer), then my daughter got cancer (whew-she is fine-in remission 5 years!), I started a real estate business so that I could help people make smart real estate investments and also use part of my commission to help Children's Hospital. Being involved in the hospital guild is great, but I would really love to get down there and volunteer on a regular basis!
InterestsEmbarrassing my teens by dancing and singing to their music in front of their friends....and knitting, reading, quilting, cooking, walking with friends, skiing, the beach, biking, hiking with family, enjoying my kid's changing ages and stages, camping and backpacking with hubby and kids, listening to music, eagle and swan watching, swimming, holding babies, being UU, I am a wanna be dancer (starting swing dance in April,10),wanna be collage artist, and finally, I am a wanna be student of Italian (since I just met my Italian relatives, now I want to talk to them).
Favorite moviesI am going to put Wicked down, even though it is a musical-I love, love, love it!! Movies: The Waitress, Into the Wild, Erin Brochovich, I admit it:Legally Blonde,My Big Fat Greek Wedding, My Life as a Dog, Man Facing Southwest, Apartment 0, Kiss of Spider Woman, and all the movies that my son has made!
Favorite musicJack Johnson, ALO, Donovan Frankenreiter, Eddie Vedder, Bon Jovi, Joss Stone, Mary K Blige, Wicked and of course, all the music from the musicals that my daughter has been in!
Favorite booksI read way too many knitting books and self improvement books (too embarrassed to mention), the Week magazine, other "real" books: Anything by Geraldine Brooks, anything by Forrest Church, Life of Oi,Art of Racing in the Rain,I think that the "Pioneer Woman Cooks" does count as a real book, because she includes ALOT of stories in it! What do you think?
