| Introduction | I am a father, husband, and retired teacher and physician. I am old enough to remember listening to Franklin Roosevelt talking to us over the radio and specifically his address to Congress after The Japanese Attack on Pearl Harbor. I was born in Oklahoma City during the great depression, which along with the Second World War was a fundamental component of my early life narrative. I named my cat: Andre Segovia. Both of our sons have gone on to earn Masters Degrees in Music from prestigious music conservatories. I was a biology major in college when Watson and Crick published The Double Helix. I had a wonderful Biology Professor (Bonnie Brown). Professor Brown sparked the beginning of my life time fascination with the chemistry of biology and evolution. I so wish that I could tell Mrs. Brown about The Twenty-first Century of "Evo-Devo"and Molecular Biology and The deciphering of the human genome. |
