Introduction	I first found the moon in December of 1999. I was living in Manhattan and read in the papers that the moon was supposed to be particularly close to the earth - somthing like 8% brighter and 12% bigger for this one month (don't ask me why - I don't remember). It'd been a long time since I'd been able to see anything above my head at night that wasn't electrified, so I got a bunch of folks together, convinced them to grab a bunch of warm layers and convoy out to a big open field on long island. We had a really good time in the field, staring at the moon and drinking wine. On the way back to Manhattan, somebody asked me, why don't we do this every month? I thought about it for a couple seconds, and said sure, that make sense, let's do it every month.
