| Introduction | I grew up back East. Not way back East, more like around the Ohio River valley. In the spring of 1994, I loaded up my dog in my little blue Toyota truck and headed out West. I worked at a few different ranches and got to play cowgirl. Then through an old fashioned paper personal ad, I met my future husband and real cowboy, Scott. We were married in March of 1997. We have no kids, but a bunch of animals including two Australian shepherds named Zoe and Bear. In addition to working on his families’ ranch, my husband got into law enforcement and is now the Sheriff of Jackson County, CO or as I affectionately call it, Survivor Island Iceland. We are at 8100 feet elevation as you may have guessed from my blog title. For the Rocky Mountains that isn’t all that high, but it's close enough to heaven for me. |
