| Introduction | I have spent almost 35 years in passionate love with horse racing. Starting with my initial employment in 1976 at Portland Meadows--where I learned the hard way how to take care of Thoroughbreds. Along the way I learned to gallop, pony and train. I was also a veterinary assistant, horse ID asst, assistant paymaster (are you seeing a pattern here?), assistant trainer, I was hands-on for most of these years and wouldn't have had it any other way, but now find myself being more and more involved with the 'front side' or the administration side of horse racing. My heart is still truly still back at the barn or in the saddle. |
