| Introduction | I started writing in this back in 2008, right after leaving the Mormon Church and while working as a Stock Broker during the financial crisis. Since then... man, booze, drugs, more jail stints than I can remember, lost trust, lost relationships, lost kids... just keep reading. I promise I'll do my best to be honest. |
| Interests | Writing - Camping - Night Swimming - Drumming - Skydiving - Bungee Jumping - White Water Rafting - Looking for answers in all the wrong places... |
| Favorite movies | Fight Club, Say Anything, Pretty much everything Coen Brothers-Wes Andersen-David Fincher or Focus Features, Dan In Real Life, St. Vincent, Zombieland, Caddyshack... it's all gonna be Bill Murray from here. |
| Favorite music | Incubus, Red, Fightstar, 311, Five Finger Death Punch, Slipknot, Senses Fail... even Dave Matthews and Dashboard Confessional. Also: Volbeat, Stone Sour, Flobots, Cartel and specifically the Sound of Silence cover by Disturbed. |
| Favorite books | Chuck Palahniuk and his minimalist writing style have reached nearly False Idol status in my mind/heart. Then again, almost everything by Dean Koontz appeals to my softer "happy ending" side, especially the later stuff. He is a master of the craft and manages to blend poetry and amazingly descriptive imagery into stories of talking dogs and killer hobos. Walden - Henry David Thoreau I have also read "On Writing" by Stephen King at least 5 times. I hate some of his early fiction but love his method. I am trying to branch out to the "classics" now |
