| Introduction | Harvey: Started out as a farmer, is still a farmer. Along the way I learned to fly, and was a crop duster. Then I became a Police officer and used my flying skills to support the police activities. I then retired from the Winnipeg Police service after a great career of 22.5 years. Now I can devote more time to farming and other ventures. I am currently on the Board of Directors of Plains Processors, which will be a federally inspected meat packing and processing plant in Carmen Manitoba. I currently serve on the board of Hope Center Inc. and the Transcona Christian Reformed Church. This year I am training to be a cyclist to cycle across North America, in the SeatoSea 2013 tour, to raise awareness and funds to stop the cycle of poverty. Joyce: I spent the first 21 years of my life in NW Iowa. I went to Dordt College and met Harv. You know what they say, if marriages are made in Heaven - Christian Colleges are the branch offices. I was able to stay home with our 4 children and worked for Home care after they where grown. This summer I'm looking forward to the 9 weeks I will spend with the Sea to Sea. |
