| Introduction | we are a crazy tribe of mixed members of the DNA pool. I was a single mother with three kids. Nastasya (11) Braxton (8) and Amelie (5). Kurt and I met at Log Haven in the spring of 2004. It was well, getting married in a fever. We fell in love instantly. Kurt sent me rare orchids and I knew right then that I was going to marry him. We were married despite everyones advice. We said our vowes September 18th 2004. It was a beautiful wedding in the mountains where we first met. Stefanie and Ryan Dixon sang as the kids and I walked down the path. Nastasya was my maid of honor as well as Stefanie. Very soon after we got pregnant with Kenai. Of course it was not planned. Can you say fertile Mertle. Life here is crazy, hectic, messy, challenging, tiring, fun, adventurous, teary, scary, exciting, frustrating and hopeful. We dream of better times, we have ups and downs. We are just trying to be good surfers, just riding the wave. We sometimes can see paradise around the corner then the skies turn grey and we can hardly see ahead. |
