| Introduction | I am currently a part-time Assistant Animal Keeper at the Peoria Zoo in Peoria, IL. I work with a large variety of animals including Lemurs, Spider Monkeys, Tamarins, Lions, Zebra, Red River Hog, Colobus Monkey, Mandrill, Macaw, Cockatoo, Kookaburra, ect. I have previously been an intern at the Indianapolis Zoo where I worked with the Behavioral Enrichment Committee to create items to stimulate the zoo animals. I have also interned at Tampa's Lowry Park Zoo in Tampa, FL and was a volunteer for several years at Miller Park Zoo in Bloomington, IL. This blog is to keep a record of the enrichment items/ideas I have tried throughout my career, to share these ideas with others and to gain new suggestions from anyone reading this blog. :-) I also have a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology with a Biology minor from Eckerd College in St Petersburg, FL. |
