| Introduction | My name is Lisa. I am Cape Verdean, African American and Brazilian. I am 26 years old and am heading into my third and final year of law school. After completing law school, I want to practice International Corporate law. I figure in 15-20 years I will have earned my judgeship and after that I am headed to the U.S. Supreme Court. I am a motivated, outgoing, free-spirited individual. I love traveling. I have been to 20 countries and am trying to make it to 30 in the next 5 years. In my free time I like to read, write prose and poetry, spend time with my friends and family, shoot pool, bowl, see shows (poetry, music, theater), dance, volunteer and work out. I also like to cook and clean (weird, huh?). Thanks for stopping by and remember to keep ascending! |
| Interests | Reading, travel, listening to music, concerts, theater, writing, cleaning (yes, I like cleaning), spending time with my friends and family, cooking, volunteering, working out, bowling, shooting pool, dining out and trying new things. |
| Favorite movies | My favorite movie is Shawshank Redemption. I am open to all genres but a few of my all time favorite movies are The Usual Suspects, Love Jones, Schindler's List, Casablanca, The Departed, ET and City of God. |
| Favorite music | I love my culture's music (that would be Cape Verdean). My music collection has a lot of neosoul and r&b, some hip hop and rap but I have an open mind and ear so can gig to anything. |
| Favorite books | I do not have that much time to read for leisure (law school is my life) but when I do read I try support Black authors by picking up their books. My favorite author is Eric Jerome Dickey (I have read ALL of his books). Zane is a close second when I am in one of those moods. ;) I recently read "The Partner" by John Grisham and I would recommend it to everyone! Some memorable reads are "Better Than I Know Myself", "Geisha, A Life", "The Nature of Blood" and "The Twentieth Wife." |
