| Introduction | The successful city has always grown according to an incremental, organic pattern. “Urban scale” refers to a hierarchy of urban elements and how they organize the city as a whole. The mission of this site is to present an alternate vision of urbanism and architecture to the conventional 20th-century model of architecture and urban planning that continues to erode our cities and towns across the country. Based in the thinking of two schools of architectural and urban theory, our mission is to develop an awareness of these patterns that can provide a path toward sustainable cities that are both timeless and resilient. |
