| Introduction | Robert and I have been married over 20 years and have 4 children. Our girls are 20 and our boys are 11 and 9. D developed normally for the first 15-18 months of his life. Then there was a year of stress in his life. I was in the hospital twice, we moved, then his younger brother was born 3 weeks early with a heart defect and spent 3 weeks in the hospital. He never spoke much and over time he slowly withdrew making less eye contact and falling into the range of ASD. J was born with transpositon of the great vessels (main arteries out of his heart were switched) and required surgery at 8 days old to correct. Surgery went very well and he became a very active little boy. He suffered from contstipation. Following big brothers lead, he rarely spoke and while not ASD was learning delayed. |
