Introduction I began studying at Jazz mobile in Harlem at age 19. Under the direction of Dr. Billy Taylor, I had the honor of performing with a group put together by John Hendricks. At that time, I also studied directly under Richard Harper, Carline Ray, and Ron Carter. Shortly thereafter, I began to study with Jazz Master Barry Harris, who was (and continues to be) one of the greatest influences on my musical career. Since my years at Jazz Mobile, I have worked as a professional Jazz vocalist in Italy, Switzerland, and the U.S. In 2005, I had the honor of singing with Wynton Marsalis at The House of Tribes. That concert subsequently won the Grammy Award for best Jazz album the following year. I have worked with many other Jazz greats, such as Isaac Ben Ayala, Omar Hakim, Essiet Essiet, Nikki Morero, Charles Eubanks, Burt Eckoff, Bob Cunningham. I've also been involved in musical theater and recieved critical acclaim from Allaboutjazz Magazine for my role as “The Wife” in Jeff Loomis's Jazz operetta, entitled “Boperetta”. Creativity, improvisation, and beauty are at the heart of my approach to music.
