Introduction Do we practice organic farming? In the original sense of the word “organic,” the answer is yes. We offer fresh, local, poison free produce directly from our farm. However, when you see produce labeled “organic” it is not necessarily fresh; it can be processed, sprayed with naturally occurring poisons and shipped thousands of miles. As a small farm that grows a wide variety of produce, choosing to certify with the USDA National Organic Program would mean being penalized with high fees and piles of paperwork. Instead of relying on the word “organic” for meaning, we recommend buying and eating locally from a source with which you are familiar.
