Introduction	Hi, I'm Lisa Avila. I teach first grade at Woodridge Elementary. I have 3 children: Emily, Zoe, and Joshua. Emily is a sophomore at NorthEast Lakeview College, Zoe is an incoming senior at AHHS, and Joshua is an incoming 8th grade at AHJS. My husband, Arturo, is an artist...Art the Artist. Together we own Raining Popcorn Media. He runs the business full-time. Raining Popcorn Media produces bilingual educational content for companies and we publish bilingual children's books.
Interests	I love to work in the yard, ride my bicycle, practice yoga, and spend time with my family.
Favorite movies	I'm not much of a movie-goer, but we recently got NetFlix, so I'm hoping to catch up on some Steve Carell and some Will Farrell movies.
Favorite music	I love the oldies...especially Carly Simon and James Taylor.
Favorite books	I'm happy to read novels that aren't my text books. I just finished my Master's degree so I'm looking forward to reading for fun!!
