| Introduction | Along with my professional career in the field of broadcast, general media design and professorship at uni I have nearly always practiced some kind of yoga – until finally around 2008 I entered a studio where the Iyengar Yoga method is being taught – and a light went on inside of my body and mind. I realized that what I had practiced so far was ok on the long run, but nothing in comparison with the bright light, clarity and structure the Iyengar method sheds on the practice of asanas. So I did my own Iyengar yoga teacher training (1000 UE) in 2012-2015, and have been teaching yoga since 2013 - with increasing joy, follow me on Instagram: sunneye0407 |
| Interests | ...follow me on instagram at sunneye0407, Yoga, Philosophy, Healing, Art, Media Art, Sculpture, Design, Architecture, Theater, Opera, Music, ... My favourite thinkers (and writers) are Marshall MacLuhan and Neil Postman. They managed to draw a clear image of our society under the influence of increasing media (ab)use. Albert Einstein and Buckminster Fuller both have my full respect for their scientific and philosophical achievements. C.G. Jung and Sigmund Freud - we owe them a good 20th century re-connection with our psyche. Neuroscientist Prof. Dr. Manfred Spitzer who shows us how media (ab)use can cause brain damage on many levels. B.K.S. Iyengar for his life long dedication to shine a never ending light on the art, science and philosophy of yoga, follow me on Instagram sunneye0407 |
| Favorite movies | "Don't Look Now" by Nicolas Roeg - it contains the most beautifully edited love scene I have ever seen in a movie; "Le Mépris" by Godard - it represents crucial moments of respect, trust and love in a couple's life; "Magnolia" by P.T. Anderson - an awesome montage of several people's lives, all caught in distress about their wrongdoings at some stage, all facing the question of how to cope and how to turn their various faces to the one true self and show it; "Amélie" - oh, it's just wonderfully refreshing, poetic and romantic, and it has the best and most believable-unbelievable special effects I've seen in a movie; "The Lives of Others" – what an awkward surprise to learn and feel what life was like East of the "free" part of Germany where I grew up; "Ratatouille" – a very tastefully and well designed character animation on types and tastes - perfectly rendered and colored and many more... |
| Favorite music | Classical music: I adore Bach, Mozart, Verdi, Chopin and Debussy for the deep and unique feelings they still produce after all those centuries. And I am a dedicated jazz fan. Favorites include – of course Miles Davis, John Coltrane, Chet Baker, Herbie Hancock, John McLaughlin, Bill Evans, and then the wonderful singers Ella Fitzgerald, Billie Holiday, Nancy Wilson... |
| Favorite books | "Kafka on the Beach", "Norwegian Wood" and other books by by Haruki Murakami. "Story for a Moment" by Ruth Ozeki, "A Fine Balance" by Rohinton Mistry, "the Flying Mountain" by Christoph Ransmayer, "The Book Thief" by Markus Zusak, the Harry Potter books and all writings by Hermann Hesse. Again – there are many more which would extend this list too much. All of them bring out deep felt emotions otherwise too deeply hidden inside. Thanks to all of these authors for doing their best. |
