Introduction	I am the producer of "Voices and Faces of the Adhan: Cairo," a feature documentary film and audio archiving project about the call to prayer, in Cairo - a 1,400 year old tradition that has never been documented. In 2010 it will be erased through modern technology. As a reflection of our commitment to dialogue and understanding within cultural diversity, the On Look Films team is comprised of individuals from Brazil, Ukraine, Belarus, Egypt, Iran, Israel and the United States. The film is directed by Miguel Silveira and is fiscally sponsored and supported by the Hartley Film Foundation, with generous support from the National Geographic All Roads Film Project. After a crucial pre-production trip in August 2009 with Director Miguel Silveira and Line Producer Jeremy Johnson, I am returning to Cairo in January 2010 to nail down logistics and develop characters while we wait for further funding to go through. I will also be gathering some footage for the feature and finding out when exactly the unification is actually taking place! I also plan to travel around the Middle East. Here, I will be writing about my experiences.
