IntroductionI come from a pretty long line of bakers. Most notable, however, is my Great Nana. She is 101 years old and retired her hand mixer and wooden spoons some time ago, yet her influence of baking still lives strong. When I was little, I would spend quite a bit of time at Great Nana's house. Her lessons in baking were simple, yet invaluable. She taught me how to space cookies evenly, how to roll and cut cinnamon rolls, and, most importantly, that practice makes perfect in the art of baking! After my early baking days, I continued to bake a little here and there. My interest in expanding my horizons peaked a few months ago when I began to think about my little girl's looming 2 year birthday party. I decided that I would make the cake, and I wanted to do something out of the ordinary and special. So, a couple of days later, I made my first cake, because I knew that I would have to practice to make that perfect cake! It was a chocolate cake with chocolate frosting and a marshmallow fondant. It was a little dry, my husband's first words of my masterpiece,but I was hooked on baking! I've decided to share my baking journey with the world. The good the bad and even the ugly...
