Introduction | I am a High school social studies teacher. I am a part time seminary student and a bible teacher at my church. I grew up Catholic but did not take religion or God seriously. During my teenage years and early to mid 20's I dabbled in just about every destructive form of behavior that I found tempting. By 25 I felt an overwhelming sense of despair about life in general. I began asking the big questions like what is life all about? Is there a God? Why bother? I began to ask those around me about the existence of God. Two co-workers began to talk to me about Jesus Christ. I was very skeptical at first but something deep inside of me recognized that what they were tellng me about Christ was true. I prayed one day by myself before a cross that was situated on a large hill in a local Catholic Shrine. I asked God to show me he was real. Everything changed after that day. My priorities, behavior, ethics, and values were completely flip-flopped. My goal is to love God with all of my heart and my mind. |
