Introduction Day by day, I live, love, learn and grow, praying these will never cease, but knowing they can and will. Perhaps foolishly, I cobble my words together in the hopes of inspiring young girls to dare to dream and reach beyond the stifling borders of poverty. Ugliness slinks around today in many forms and it lurked all around me when I was a child. It was an ugliness that threatened to devour children. Fortunately, I was protected by loving parents, and yet, as I grew there were always dangers to avoid and for me, the way to escape was to hide in the pages of a book. There, in so many books pressed into my hands by those kind teachers, I could experience amazing tales of endurance. Somehow, those tales took me away from my small, narrow world to places far grander and larger than mine. Maybe, just maybe I have something worth sharing, a tale that someone is waiting to hear, a tale that when read, a child might say it must have been written especially for them, and they will know it is true.
Interests Reading middle grade authors and many others both past and present. Still learning to cook, especially homestyle Mexican dishes. I have issues with rice. I love a good sauce. Dabbling with simple French phrases, walking to lose ten, damn persistent pounds by Christmas and searching for little treasure in junk shops. I continue to write with hopes of success and I continue to inculcate good manners upon my chunky disapproving cat. Stargazing, capturing sunsets via a camera and writing notes and fashioning letters to friends and family by hand.
