About me

Occupation Librarian
Location United States
Introduction Both my parents valued learning. My mother was a self taught artist and my father a meteorologist who went on, after his retirement, to study logo therapy, pursue a doctorate in medical counseling, and learn to write haiku. On my high school graduation card my mother wrote, “ . . . now is the time to say hello to life and studies, and freedom of thought.” I had two parents who were models of perseverance and creativity. They were willing to take risks that ultimately led to further learning and growth. They were the foundation that gave me the courage, despite my self-doubt, to enter graduate school, in January of 2002. During my studies, my desire to serve a library community developed into a passion, and I joyfully received my MLS in May of 2003. Now, as a school library media specialist, I thrive in an environment where I can share my skills with other people and where I continue to learn daily from the community I serve.
