About me

Introduction I'm from Grand Rapids, Michigan, currently reading for my Master's in Education (Learning and Technology) at the University of Oxford. I became interested in if and how ICT can alter the learning experience while working as a Research Assistant at the Consortium for School Networking for two years. My undergraduate dissertation, "The Politics of Cyber Schooling: How Political Considerations Affect the Success of Cyber Schools," tracked the political and economic considerations that influenced the start-up of an innovative cyber school in Detroit, Michigan. I then worked as a Data Analyst the W.E. Upjohn Institute, where I focused on evaluating the effects of the Kalamazoo Promise, a groundbreaking economic development program that offers free college tuition to every student within city boundaries regardless of merit. Now, I'm at Oxford, furthering my passion for examining structural, political, and macro-level issues that affect innovation in educational technology and in education in general.
